The End of Islam?
A House Divided…
Part 1

Fear seems to be ruling in the Muslim and non-Muslim world today. The headlines continue to cover stories of violent demonstrations, terrorism and fundamental Islamic intimidation for those who criticize Islam. However, there are a minority of people who are questioning, is the end of Islam imminent? Who would have imagined in 1979 that in ten years the Berlin Wall would crumble? Or who would believe the Chinese would chart the course to lead in economic capitalism?

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. (Mark 3:24)  Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 there have been over 19,700 Islamic inspired terror attacks around the world. A great proportion of those attacks have targeted opposing Muslim sects. Which translates to over one hundred thousand who have died and hundreds of thousands who have been injured in these Islamic inspired terror attacks. (thereligionofpeace.com)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. (Galatians 5:1) God designed man to desire freedom. Sharia law is the oppression of its own people. Fundamental Islam is spreading its doctrine of Sharia law.  For instance, women are forced to wear the head covering.  Criticizing Islam, the Qu’ran and /or any of the prophets is unacceptable and can result in execution. Last spring, the cultural Muslim country of Northern Mali was taken over by fundamental Muslims of Al Qaeda and Tuareg sects. The cultural Malian Muslims are now having a taste of orthodox Islam as prescribed in the Qu’ran.

Apparently, many of the Malian Muslims have not taken well to the change. Our Malian contact told me recently that in one village a 17 year old boy was caught stealing and the Muslim Cleric and his cohorts were about to cut off the boys hand as the punishment. The Muslim village rose up in solidarity and stopped the amputation saying: “You will not cut this boys hand off and take away his means of working honestly the rest of his life!” Our contact also told us that since the fundamental takeover last spring more Malian Muslims have desired to study and read the Bible than any time in his life of over 60 years. (Currently the Al Qaeda and Tuareg sects have divided again and are at odds with each other in Mali.)

While the fundamental Islamic world has tried to suppress and censor information, they are losing the battle. The internet, satellite TV, mobile phones and media of all sorts, are constantly exposing the corruption within the Islamic world and their leadership. At the same time, Muslims have access to the Judeo-Christian worldview through these same media outlets like never before. Modern communication has contributed to the process of conversion of many Muslims I have interviewed. In the latter days, Scripture tells us, “Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.” (Daniel 12:10)  Note that many will be “refined” as they gain understanding, which gives context to the current rise in persecution of Christians and the Muslim converts in the Islamic world.  As the Islamic world is dividing against itself, we are blessed to stand in unity and strengthen the Body of Christ in their witness. Please continue to pray for the Muslim world as these days are difficult and keep hope for the righteousness God is bringing to millions of Muslims. Thank you for partnering with Spirit of Martyrdom as together we serve the living martyrs in these areas of the world.

“If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand…

Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
