La Montana DVD

La Montana DVD is the true story of God’s presence working inside the lives and mistakes of human life. The resulting unexpected and emotional encounter unveils the very core of the Colombian conflict.  Commander Noel, wrote “The profoundness of ‘La Montana’ lies in the veracity with which it is told, without exaggerations.”

The Colombian National Army tries to take back its legitimate control over the area.  The Colombian commander boldly pushed and cornered Guerrilla Commander Noel against a high mountain ridge.  The guerrillas are now trapped and without food. Noel, asks an old friend, (a missionary his group had held hostage and released 20 years before) for help. Russell Stendal, while being held hostage, befriended Noel and other Marxists.  His mission is now to reach out and witness Jesus to the jungle guerrillas. The Marxist commander asks Russell for the cell phone number of a Catholic priest known throughout the area for his humanitarian deeds. They hope the priest might inconspicuously bring food up the mountain. The missionary mistakes the requested priest’s name for the name of the local Colombian paramilitary leader.  Russell consequently and inadvertently gives each commander the wrong number. Subsequently, the two sworn enemies, through humorous confusion and danger, end up face to face.

Army General  Robinson wrote, “It shows an honest army doing its job,  But most importantly, La Montana palces God first.”   A Colombian farmer wrote, “This film does not tell lies or hold silence, two factors that offend the truth.” Each man and side must take the journey to apply God’s principle of peace in a lifetime of war.
