This month’s GA Feature is Advocate Rick from California.

Rick started making short-term mission trips in the 1990s. His infectious enthusiasm for missions soon spread to his church. Rick planned short-term trips to Mexico with his friends. Over time, the church’s mission program flourished, supporting missionaries and hosting an annual missions conference. As Rick aptly put it, “Missions are a year-round expectation.”

In November 2023, the church hosted the SOM-Africa Director as the featured speaker at its annual conference. His words resonated with the audience, leaving a lasting impression. A couple from the Philippines, visiting the church for the first time, were eager to return, saying, “We want to meet more of your missionaries!”

Rick’s church usually draws 100–150 people for its mission conference. The church also invites other churches in the area to attend. They provide SOM International books and resources, and people can connect more deeply with the work.
