The logistics continue moving forward for two new high-powered radio stations for tribal people in Colombia and Venezuela.

Effective Radio Outreach

There are approximately 200,000 tribal people in the two nations who will be impacted by the access to additional radio stations. Among them, an unprecedented revival continues to increase. A huge number of Spanish-speaking Colombians and Venezuelans will also be in range of these stations.

In southeastern Colombia, the SOM South America team is preparing for the installation of a huge AM transmitter and is beefing up two shortwave installations to have extremely wide coverage.

Sustainable Power Needed

Wild surges and intense spikes on the electric power grid—which goes on and off many times daily—have repeatedly damaged voltage regulators and transmitters. Therefore, the team has these stations turned off or running on minimum power until they can either afford to run diesel generators or else install solar power—or possibly a combination of both, as they have done elsewhere.

These radio stations represent more than just technology—they are lifelines of hope, truth, and encouragement for entire communities. With revival already stirring among tribal people, the potential impact is immense. But to keep these stations running at full power, we need sustainable solutions—and that’s where you can make a difference.
