An Atmosphere of All-Day Praise
Before sunrise, the sound system was already on. By daylight, the seats were full with men and women gathered to listen as the teaching began in their own language. And when the day finally ended, it wasn’t because enthusiasm ran out. It was because the next day was about to begin.
Fifth Annual Indigenous Pastors Convention . . .
The new facility near the Colombia-Venezuela border was filled exactly as SOM South America leaders hoped it would be when 600 men and women traveled for miles to be at the annual convention in January.
SOM South America Director Russell’s son-in-law laughed as he shared from the field that the singing sometimes continued until 4:00 a.m., even though teaching resumed at 6:00. “They have the joy of the Lord,” he said, “but very little rest.”
. . . And Many More
What the photo reports show is more than a building. They capture a space where Scripture is taught in heart language, where leaders are equipped, and where joy spills past the schedule. This facility is already serving a growing community hungry to learn and worship together.
More people gathered for another training with Indigenous leaders right after the first convention ended. And there will be many more! And when it came time to send everyone home, the leaders made sure even the gas tanks were full for those who had a long way to travel.
