Global Ambassador Toolbox

Global Ambassador Toolbox teaches skills for representing SOM International and inviting others to serve the Persecuted Church. Over the years, Global Ambassador Rick has learned many lessons about good stewardship.

Essential Skills for Global Ambassadors

Rick, along with his fellowship, understood good stewardship. They knew that every dollar spent in the US is a dollar less for the work in global harvest fields. So, Rick’s church covered the SOM International Northwest Africa Director’s travel expenses to the US. They also invited as many people as possible for the mission conference.

Rick’s church recognized that they were serving the SOM International Northwest Africa Director, a leader who risks much for Jesus. They were able to successfully host an Anchor Meeting for an international director.

GA TOOLBOX – The Anchor Meeting

The Nuts and Bolts of Good Stewardship

Jesus “had to go through Samaria” (John 4:4).

Here was Jesus, sitting by a well in Samaria in the heat of the day while the disciples went into town to buy lunch. When a woman came alone to draw water, Jesus started the conversation.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Will you give me a drink?’” (John 4:7).

We know the rest. Jesus promised the woman “living water” (v. 10). He made two startling statements: “You’ve had five husbands,” he said. And he told her he was the Messiah.

That was enough. The woman left her water vessel and took off. She came back with everyone in town. It was a smash hit of a meeting. Many said, “We know that this man really is the Savior of the world” (v. 42).

What does this have to do with GA?

The woman was a connector (networker). She hosted Jesus as a speaker at an anchor meeting—at the well.

What does an Anchor Meeting do?

The Anchor Meeting makes good stewardship happen. A great Gospel meeting is the reason Jesus went to Samaria. The Anchor Meeting is the reason for an SOM speaker to make the trip. The Anchor Meeting maximizes impact and minimizes cost.

What does a successful Anchor Meeting look like?

  • A local leader, the GA connector, initiates the meeting.
  • The connector can influence one to two dozen people or more to come.
  • The event involves a church, organization, or network new to SOM.
  • The event host is willing to take a love offering to engage their network with the Global Church.

Once a connector secures the Anchor Meeting, you can schedule other meetings with churches and small groups.

How do I initiate a meeting?

The connector works with the SOM speaker and local leadership to complete the Speaker Request Form.
