SOM India

India is the least reached nation for the Gospel in the world. It is currently in the top ten nations of persecution against its small minority of Christians. In 2011, SOM-USA assisted the first church planting school within the SOM International network. In 2012, the SOM-India Director established SOM-India with a heart to serve persecuted Christians and advance the Gospel.

Ladies’ sewing discipleship schools were also established, training widows in the skill of sewing and biblical discipleship.

As of 2023, there are twenty-seven church planting schools and twenty-seven sewing discipleship schools operating twice a year, commissioning these leaders to reach the remotest areas of India.

Threats of Prison: She Continues to Share Jesus and Truth

Steadfast Witness in India Faces Jail Time for Sharing Faith    Life can be problematic in Hindu-dominated northern India, but I never imagined receiving threats of prison time for sharing my faith.   About three years ago, before being a Christian, I suffered from a severe eye problem causing intense pain. I was taken to India's most sacred religious sites and performed all of the rituals. Unexpectedly, the priest washed my eyes with cow urine, and consequently, the degree of burning increased with each wash.      The Lord Heals My Sight A Christian brother shared how Jesus healed a

Testimony: Overcoming Isolation by Faith

Unfortunately, even though I was married for ten years and blessed with two children, my husband left me in 2016 because he was in a relationship with another woman. I was heartbroken. Alone and unskilled, I could not qualify for any job. We were dependent upon my husband to make our living, so when he walked out of our lives, we were empty, in body and spirit. Not only did I need a new job skill, but I needed to overcome the isolation that this situation created. Overcoming Isolation After Coming Out of Hinduism Though I came out of Hinduism

The Miraculous Gift of a Bicycle for a Church Planter in India

Testimony of a Church Planter in India    I thank the Lord for His call upon my life during this global pandemic crisis. Due to the reduction of our work hours, I am experiencing much pressure to help our family survive. To make a living, I walk or take local transportation a few hours away. Still, the Lord has been meeting our needs in unforeseen ways.   The most significant burden I have is the eight or nine Hindu villages in my area have no connection to Christ. The greater the crisis, the more the despair, the more my faith
