Description

By Canoe and Dog Train by Egerton R. Young

In 1868 Reverend Egerton Ryerson Young was pastoring a thriving Methodist church in Hamilton, Ontario. He and his wife Elizabeth were married in December of that year. A few days after their marriage God called them to serve as missionaries among the Cree and Saulteaux Indians at Norway House, and in the North-West Territories north of Lake Winnipeg.

By Canoe and Dog Train is Reverend Young’s own account of the adventures, blessings, and hardships he and his family experienced while sharing the gospel with the Indian people of Canada’s northland.
